Ashoradeh Island

Ashuradeh is located in Golestan province. Historically, it was the hunting ground of Safavid kings and for few months it was occupied by the Russians. Due to its beautiful nature and the presence of various birds in different seasons, this island is a suitable destination for nature lovers, especially bird watching. Because of rising Caspian Sea water levels and floods this Island currently has little population that most of them are fishermen and governmental staff.

Chabahar is the only ocean port in Iran, which is located on the shores of the Makran Sea and the Indian Ocean. This port is situated in southeastern of Iran in the beautiful province of Sistan and Baluchestan. Hendurabi Island

You may think that Hendorabi is a city in India or somewhere else except in Iran, but this Island with its weird name has been located in the south of Iran. Although it is not as famous as other islands such as Qeshm, Hengam or Hormuz, it has its own attractions. In many ancient documents this island was called Abrun. In 1645, the Dutch people called this island Horn. According to a local myth Hend and Rabi were the names of a couple who were in love with each other and immigrated to this island to live with each other.

Kish Island

As the most people who live in the southern part of Iran are Arabs, the people who live in Kish also follow the culture of Arabs and dress like them. Most of the natives of this region are Muslims which are Sunnis and Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are two of their most important holidays. People of this island are very interested in music and singing and their favorite musical instrument is drum. The main occupations of the residents are fishing, pearl hunting, livestock farming, seafaring, and trading. This region like other southern cities of the country has local delicious food which their main ingredient is fish.

Lavan Island of Iran  Lavan Island is the third largest island in Iran after Qeshm and Kish in the Persian Gulf.The length of this island is 9 km and it extends from the west to the east. The island is seventy-five square kilometers.The island is 147 km (91 miles) far from the Lengeh Port and is approximately 20 km far from the port of Maqam. Lavan Island is the farthest island from the center of Hormozgan province.Lavan Island is very resourceful in the field of gas and oil is one of the four major oil infrastructures of the Persian Gulf. The island has huge and significant facilities for exploiting, refining, transporting, loading and exporting crude oil. The oil industry infrastructures of the island is known as "Lavan Refining Complex". Offshore Oil Company of Iran has several oil extraction and exploitation platforms, including Salman platform, Bilal platform, Resalat platform and Reshadat platform near that are located the Lavan Island.This island is one of the most important coral regions of Iran

Qeshm Island

Qeshm Island is one of the southern islands in Iran which is located in Hormozgan province. This island is the biggest island in Strait of Hormuz. Qeshm Island is bounded in the north by Bandar Abbas, in the east by Larak Island, in the south-west by Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb and in the south by Hengam Island. The island consists of many districts and villages. The people of this region speak Persian and have Bandari dialect (Qeshm language is a combination of Arabic, Persian, Bandari, Hindi and English).
