Iran as one of the oldest land who held the long-term civilization are full of people that consider mountains in the same way as the others on east.

Besides the usual beliefs, people also here mark mountains as the symbol of life, happiness and joy. Iranian especially believes that the mountains are the source of light, in order to that the mountains marks the mystery and holy.

Kelardasht is a beautiful plain in the middle of a green valley, the beauty of which is not only because of Alam-kuh, but also it is due to dozens of natural places, antiquities and, most importantly, people with a rich culture form the landscape of this region. Kelardasht is one of the important areas in the beautiful province of Mazandaran. Its center is Hassan keyf village, which takes its name from a hill called Kelar near the northern part of the Sardabroud river and is surely surrounded by the most original and spectacular natural and human sceneries. This region is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the north to and by the heights of Takht-e Soleyman to the south. It also reaches to Chalous by east. And has Qazvin and  Alamut to the its west. Rudbarak and Vandarbon, which are generally the starting point for mountan climbers that targeting to ascend Alam-Kuh, are the villages of Kelardash that are along the Sardabroud river and the peak of Takht-e Soleyman. Numerous forests surround Kelardasht, each of which is nostalgia for Iranians. Azoo, Mejel and Abbasabad forests are among the places that you can enjoy visiting. Damavand is the highest peak of Iran and highest volcano of Asia. With the altitude of 5610 meters from the sea level, Damavand is shining like a diamond on the Alborz range. Damavand is located between the Caspian Sea and the Great Desert of Iran. It is only ninety minutes from Tehran by car. The best time for climbing Damavand is August. Laar plain at the foot of Damavand is a unique landscape that it is the most suitable area for bird watching, butterfly watching and photographing. Damavand got many natural wonders such as roaring rivers, hot and cold springs, abundant glaciers, numerous lakes and exotic flora and fiona.

Undoubtedly, this untouched nature and beautiful sights, which is mingled with colorful life of the Shahsavan tribe, has created one of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Iran. Furthermore, mineral hot springs in Sabalan slopes (Sarein, Qotursoee, Moeil and ets.) attract many tourists to the region. Historical Mosques, old baths, ancient hills, great and historic mansions, holy shrines, tombs of eminent people represent their rooted culture and history which amaze climbers and tourists.

Zard Kuh with an altitude of 4221 meters above sea level is located in Zagros Range.  Two major rivers of Iran i.e. Karoon and Zayandeh-Rude are running near this mountain.  The nearest city to Zard Kuh is Sanandaj.  Zard Kuh means "Yellow Mountain" in Persian.  In order to reach Zard Kuh, you need to go to Cloon Chin valley.  The trail is fantastic and after about four hours hike you will reach to Khersan shelter.  This route is the safest route to climb Zard Kuh because the other route i.e. Cool Khadang route is very dangerous due to avalanches.  For climbing Zard Kuh in summers you don't need crampons.

Mount Dena a natural geological museumMount Dena, well known as the “Roof of Zagros”. It is located on eastern part of Iran. Dena has biosphere reserves above 3000m. Not only the natural beauties but also other cultural potentials of tourism in neighboring cities like Isfahan, Shiraz, Yasuj and also the popular nomadic migration route has made this region an interesting destination for tourists. Vegetation diversity in Dena is considered as an appealing item as well. Variety of oak species at 2500m, vivid grassy and herbaceous plants which grow at 3500m results in lichens and rocky soil plants that cover the entire area above 4000m.However, we could also add glaciers, springs, waterfalls, freshwater rivers, that all make a perfect view of nature. Dena Mountains as a water reserve, have frequent numbers of springs in the valleys and mountain slopes. Beside the beautiful sceneries and vegetation, there is potentials to observe wild animals like goats, bears and Bezoar ibex with unaided eyes. Nature view of Dena which is merged with nomadic life and herbal and animal species and cultural view will stun tourists by its magnificent nature and cultural richness.In addition, the good news for the bird enthusiasts is that they will have this chance to observe “Homa”- (the Persian legendary bird) flying around in the region. A truly good catch for photographers.

Taftan is an active volcano in SE Iran. Taftan is located in Sistan and Baluchestan province near a city known as Khash. Taftan is almost four thousand meters high. Taftan got two summits of Materkouh and Narkouh. Materkouh is surrounded by fresh lava flows. The last time Taftan was erupted was in 1993. On rainy days, Taftan turns into a beautiful clay volcano. Not many people climb the mountain because it is located in remote areas of Iran and this is the reason that Taftan has become one of the most mysterious and unexplored parts of the world. If you are really into adventure, try to climb this mountain.

Every weekend many people from Tehran climb this mountain and the slopes of Tochal hosts many domestic and foreign tourists.  You can climb Tochal every season but you should be cautious if climbing Tochal in winter. Many people think because Tochal is near Tehran its a very safe mountain to climb but its a big big mistake.  every year people lose their lives on mount Tochal mostly due to avalanches and hypothermia. If you are a mountain climber and visiting Tehran, don't miss this beautiful and unique mountain. There are more than 400 species of butterflies living in Iran , among which you can find 100 species in Mt. Tochal.

This remote and mountainous landscape bears testimony to the traditional culture of the Hawrami people, an agropastoral Kurdish tribe that has inhabited the region since about 3000 BCE. The property, at the heart of the Zagros Mountains in the provinces of Kurdistan and Kermanshah along the western border of Iran. The Uramanat Villages are located in the mountainous Kermanshah and Kurdistan Provinces of Iran and Halabja Governorate of Iraqi Kurdistan.
