The average rainfall in the heights of Damavand is 1400 mm and mostly in the form of snow. Damavand always is covered with snow and its windy all the times. On some winters Damavand is colder than Everest!!! April and May is wintertime in Damavand. Climbing Damavand on winter is not easy due to harsh storms, excessive cold and strong winds. The best time for climbing Damavand is at summer i.e. July until September.
There are numerous springs, rivers and waterfalls in Damavand. Rivers of “Moshk Anbar”, “Talkh Ab”, “Hableh Rude”, “Deli Chai”, “Laar”, “Shah bolaghi” and “Diva Siab” are rivers of Damavand.
Laar river is an important and beautiful river around Damavand, which originates from Lar valley and flows into a dam of the same name and the beautiful view of Laar lake.

Laar National Park is a protected area due to its many plant species and is one of the most important attractions of Damavand. At an altitude of 3,200 to 3,500 meters, there are tall, thorny, interconnected grasses and shrubs that are usually the subject of many professional photographers.

The route of the northern front, the route of the northeastern front that passes through the shelter of Takht Fereydoun, the route of the western front, the route of the southern front which is accessible through Polour. Rineh and Goosfand-Sara (south route), Simorgh Shelter (Western route), and shelter of Takht-e Fereydoun on the northeastern ridge that is located at an altitude of 4360 meters.
There are farmers present in the area during the grazing season, which includes local and nomadic rangeland owners. There are also semi-nomadic nomads on this mountain.
