Lut with about 175,000 square kilometres is one tenth of Iran's area. This plain is "the twenty-fifth largest desert in the world." "Lut Plain" is listed as "Iran's first natural monument" in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The vegetation of the Lut Plain is teak trees and shrubs that are found in desert pots known as "nebka" and are grown using groundwater to prevent being buried under sand. In the heart of this great plain, this vegetation (Nebka) doubles the beauty of the desert.

Despite the harsh climate, Lut plain has a variety of animal species, including sand fox, rabbit, sand cat, jabir, jard, sargepe, hawk, flycatcher, cockatiel, snake, camel, snake, parsley, agama serozghi, Black and Arabic tails and scorpion species include golden, black and scorpion scorpions and can be seen at full altitudes, goats and jabirs, which is a sign of the active ecological cycle of Lut plain.
