As mentioned before Khor ski resort is located at Karaj city. Due to the semi-desert and dry climate in summer and Khor region is quite cold in winter. And average annual temperature of the region in 1990 to 1999 was 15 degrees Celsius. Lowest temperature of the region is -4 degrees and 40 degrees is the highest.
Lifting system of Khor includes a draglift. Therefore, the skiers and others can use the lift from the first station with the altitude of 2400 meters above sea level.
The lengths of lift is 1500 meters. Also for altitude higher than 2850 meters, there is a mild slope hiking track up to the height of 3400 meters. This resort has two slopes with 1850 m and 350 m lengths and a button lift.
Ski season in this resort is between, early December to almost end of March.
This resort has experienced trainers and ski school.
Like almost every ski resorts, this place is also benefits from the basic welfares and facilities such as a ski school, a platter lift, restaurant, café and snowmobile.
Khor waterfall is only 2 kilometers away from the resort. The access to the Khor waterfall is from the road and you can use your vehicle to get there. However, in the snow season the road is almost freezing and extra equipment for driving in wither in required.
As the waterfall is located in the cold region, it is almost the host of many Ice climbers in winter. Rather than winter Khor waterfall location is quite suitable for hiking and cycling on summer.
Clean and fresh air of river and view of beautiful mountains attract nature lovers to this part of the city on weekends.
Khor (that literally means “sun”) is the name of a historical village located 32 Kilometers northeast of Karaj. Before Karaj dam (Amir kabir dam) and Khozankala in right side karaj-Chalous road after passing Arangeh, Jurab, Sar Ziyarat and Sijan villages;
The Khor village is the last destination to get to the Khor ski resort. To get to the ski resort you need to fisrt pass the village and ride along to get to the entry of mountainside of GandomChal heights and by passing the roads through the Khor south mountains, you will reach to the waterfall and stunning natural views.
The resort has two 1852 m and 352 m - slopes, has the capacity of 1322 people daily, and is ready for delivering services every day. This resort has a platter lift, a pistenbully and a restaurant.
Khor village
it is one of the oldest villages of Karaj city in Alborz province and has the fame for its fresh and clear weather. It is almost 2000 years old and has many attractive sites like Imamzadeh Soleiman mausoleum built in Safavid dynasty; this place is famous for possessing an 800-year-old plane-tree in the grand mosque’s yard.
Besides, there is another location, which is called Ghale Khor tower. Ghale Khor has remained from the past, an old cemetery with 700-year-old gravestones and Khor waterfall.
