Maranjab

Maranjab is located in the north of Aran and Bidgol in Isfahan province. 

Why is it called Marnjab?

Due to the sandy nature of the land, digging wells to reach water was very difficult and arduous in ancient times, and for this reason the area was called “where you will suffer to find water”.

Like any desert can be seen here, and camel riding, motorcycling and off-road driving are also practiced in it.

As we mentioned, the winter weather in Marnjab desert is much milder in winter. But at the same time, you should know that desert nights will be very cold and exhausting in winter. For this reason, it depends entirely on your taste which season you choose for your trip. If you are really a fugitive from the heat and cannot stand the heat at all, you can buy winter for the price of very cold nights. If you are planning to travel to Marnjab desert in winter, it is better to get rid of the thought of camping in the heart of the desert. The air outside is really unbearable. Vegetation

Although Marnjab is a desert and very hot region, but due to the abundant water and food that exists in this region, apart from the golden sands, you can see various plants in it. 

Animals

The area is also home to jackals, foxes, chameleons, snakes and lizards. During the cool hours, birds such as eagles and hawks can be seen on top of these desert hills.

The best way to reach this desert is to move from Aran and Bidgol to the city barracks. There are dirt roads about 40 km from the access road to Marnjab. After passing this dirt road, you will face the endless desert of Marnjab.

The route from Semnan to Maranjab passes through the heart of the desert and along the way you will encounter various attractions such as the Salt Lake and the White Water Caravanserai. In addition, to cross this desert route, you must use a safe off-road vehicle. Otherwise you may stay on track.

If you travel by your own vehicle, it is better to get to Aran and Bidgol cities. From inside the city, there are two routes to reach the desert. The first route is through the army barracks road and the second route is through Abu Zidabad road. Abu Zidabad route is not suitable for beginners at all. For this reason, it is better to get to the army barracks and from there enter the dirt road leading to the desert.

Marnjab Caravanserai

It is the Marnjab castle that was built by the order of Shah Abbas Safavid for the travelers to take a rest and spend the night there. Today, this caravanserai has the same prosperity as before and is the residence of desert tourists. The Marnjab Caravanserai has been renovated for more than ten years and has been hosting people. The rooms in this complex are small but comfortable and provide you with a relaxing night. Because spraying is done inside the caravanserai to keep out dangerous insects, it is best not to sleep in areas such as the roof. It is also good to know that your mobile phone has an antenna up to about three kilometers around the inn. Marnjab Caravanserai

It is known that the castle and caravanserai of this region was built by the order of King Abbas. The caravanserai is located on the Silk Road and in the old days, caravans used to spend the night there. It is written on the head in the caravanserai that 500 armed guards have always been present in the castle. The inn has 29 rooms and these days Maranjab travelers spend the night in it for a fee.

Chah Dastkan

Four km east of the caravanserai we reach Chah Dastkan. The water of this well is sweet and this is one of the reasons for its attractiveness.

Salt Lake

One of the attractions of Marnjab Desert is seeing Aran and Bidgol Salt Lake, which is located near the caravanserai. The ancients believed that the island was constantly moving, but later it became clear that this was due to a visual error, and with the disappearance of the two ends of the horizon due to extreme heat and the phenomenon of mirage, this impression was formed. The lake water has dried over time and a white trace of salt has remained on the ground.

Desert is always hot. Best season to go to the desert is from November to April.  Although you also experience hot hours of the day at this time, it can generally be said that the temperature in this area is more tolerable in autumn, winter and early spring.
